Great experiences are just around the corner of Plaid Swan Ranch and Cottages. This is the ideal location to be at the epicenter of all things in Northwestern Montana. The abundance and diversity of activities await you upon arrival.

Because we are located at the base of the Swan Mountains and just a few miles from the famed Jewel Basin these cottages can serve as your outdoor basecamp. Uniquely situated to hike in all of the key areas in the Flathead Valley so that you can have either the commercial or non-commercial adventure depending on your tastes. The Plaid Swan Cottages allow you to experience the real Montana without being locked into a stale hotel or your average VRBO rental. The cottages allow you to get off the beaten path and to be conveniently located to Glacier National Park, Echo Lake and Flathead Lake.  Key elements are just a short beautiful drive to anywhere you may want to explore.

If visiting in the winter months the Plaid Swan Cottages are located near all of the key Nordic ski paths as well as some of the best snow-mobiling. And if that is not enough, the cottages are located between Black Tail Ski Resort and Big Mountain Ski Resort depending on which experience you are looking for.

Glacier International Airport is just a short 15-20 minutes’ drive. If planning your stay in the winter never forget to get AWD or 4WD vehicles so that you are not limited in your travels and experiences in the Flathead Valley.

Onsite activities feature hundreds of miles of walking trails, Nordic skiing on the grounds and the hayfields in winter, capturing the spirit of a working llama and alpaca farm plus fire pits for s’more’s and much more. A specialist comes to conduct star gazing events periodically throughout the summer and can be specially arranged for your booking on the grounds.  Nordic inspired saunas are available for guests to use after a long day of hiking or skiing. Great experiences for our guests are just around the corner.  We have crafted a few of our favorites here for your review.  We recommend that guests carry a can of bear spray on your explorations both on and off the ranch.  We also advise guests that the property is located in the forests and wildlife does roam the property at various times throughout the year.
